Hi there, glad you could make it. My name is Dave, I'm 35 and a quarter and live, work and play in Stoke-on-Trent, a medium sized city in the centre of the UK near to Manchester.
I am currently working as a Web Developer/Designer and Software Developer available for freelance projects ranging from small scale personal sites to full blown ventures.
I love finding new, cool stuff on the web. Always seems to be something out there that I've not seen before that makes me take notice.
Most of these I "steal" from other weblogs or are found via links from friends, the rest are things I happen across usually during one of my infamous Google searches.
In the real world I'm an Xbox fanboy, part time journalist, badminton superstar and I'm a lover, not a fighter. Anything else you want to know about me, just ask. And for those of you too lazy to read all this, there's even this handy summary for you all.
The new colour scheme was designed around the very obvious 'grass' motif. I decided that having a large Cow on the top of my page wasn't giving the impression that I was a professional and took my work seriously. Also I wanted a change.
The graphics were haphazardly mashed together using Photoshop, layout was
all designed in Dreamweaver just so I could experiment and
because I'm lazy like that.
The background coding is all PHP running against a mySQL database. That
side of things was probably the easiest to do, and I felt it would be
cheating to use Moveable Type if I could write something myself.
I decided to make the site geeky-cool by making the layout and positioning all done via CSS. There's no tables to be seen here, not a one. Works pretty well, and the W3C approve my stylesheet too.
The site validates as XHTML 1.0, which means I can put this
very nice logo on every page if I wanted to ruin the colour scheme I'd developed.
